Including the proposed amendments in the Police, Crime, sentencing and Courts Bill isn’t about special treatment for women. It is about fair and just treatment for children, like Alice’s daughter, who desperately need to be more than just an afterthought.

Why are the government delaying prisoner release?
Many people in our prisons do not need to be punished by imprisonment. Their crimes are neither so serious nor so dangerous that prison is the only possible punishment. 1 in 10 people in prison hasn’t been convicted of any crime & is on remand.
